Will Alford joined the Effingham County High School staff as the Assistant Director of Bands in 2008. He became the Director of Bands at Effingham County Middle School in 2017 followed by the Director of Bands at ECHS in 2018. The band program at ECHS currently consists of a 200 member marching band, four concert ensembles, a basketball pep band, jazz band, winterguard, and various small ensembles. Mr. Alford serves as the lead director for the Advanced Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and the award winning Rebel Regiment. During his time at ECHS the band program has grown from 100 students to 270.
Originally from Warner Robins, Georgia, Mr. Alford graduated with a Bachelor degree in Music Education with a concentration in trombone from Columbus State University in 2007 and completed his Masters degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia in 2012.
Mr. Alford is an active member of the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) and the National Association for Music Educators. Mr. Alford and his wife, who is a veterinarian, reside in Claxton, Georgia with their many animals.
Anthony M. Jones is in his third year as Associate Director at Effingham County High School. The Rebel Regiment at Effingham County High School consists of a Marching Band, four Concert Ensembles, a Basketball Pep Band, a Jazz Band, a Winterguard, and various Small Ensembles. Prior to his current role, he was Director of Bands at Jane Macon Middle School in Brunswick, GA for three years and Director of Bands at Martha Puckett Middle School in Jesup, Georgia for eight years. He has served as a marching and concert band clinician and adjudicator in South Georgia and South Carolina.
Mr. Jones, a native of Surrency, GA, received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Georgia Southern University in 2004. While at GSU, he studied percussion with Dr. Matthew Fallin and was a member of the Georgia Southern University Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Daniel Pittman. He received his Masters of Music Education degree from Boston University in 2009. As Associate Director of the Effingham County High School band program, his primary duties include assisting with the Rebel Regiment Marching Band, director of the Symphonic and Concert Bands and director of the basketball pep band. Under his baton, the Symphonic Band consistently receives superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluation performing level V literature.
Mr. Jones is currently a member of GMEA (Georgia Music Educators Association), NAFME (National Association for Music Education), and is endorsed by Vic Firth, Inc. as an education specialist. He currently resides in Guyton, GA, with his wife, LaToya and their son, Trenton.
Lindsay Sandberg is an accomplished French Horn player and teacher. She is currently in her second year as the Director of Bands at Effingham County Middle School.
Ms. Sandberg attended Georgia Southern University where she obtained her Bachelor's in Music Education (2012), and her Masters in Conducting (2015).
Ms. Sandberg is an active member of the Georgia Music Educators Association and the National Association for Music Educators.
Kristen Watts is an exceptional flute player and educator. Mrs. Watts is currently in her second year as the Assistant Band Director at Effingham County Middle School.
Ms. Watts attended Georgia Southern University where she earned her Bachelor's in Music Education (2015), and her Masters in Flute Performance (2018).
Ms. Watts is an active member of Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA).
